Through dialogue and exploration of the ceramic material, Fredrik Bull and Anette Krogstad have worked their way towards geode like objects that hide a contrasting inner hollow. This can both surprise and delight the viewer who chooses to explore the object.
A geode is a stone with inner rooms filled with quartz types.
Fredrik with his tactile approach and interest in symbolism, mysticism and shamanic rituals has emphasized the design of the outer surface. Anette with her fascination for glazes and color combinations has worked out various expressions that can represent holographic surfaces and some with a gold-plated inside. Together they have designed the containers in various sizes and shapes, which allows for a tactile experience in combination with curiosity.
Based in Oslo, ceramist and designer Anette Krogstad holds a bachelor degree in proudct design from Oslo Met and a master degree in ceramics from Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
Her tableware have been commissioned by a number of restaurants and pop up events – including Noma in Copenhagen, former Pjoltergeist, Lysverket, Alex Sushi, EFF EFF oysterbar and the underwater restaurant Under in Lindesnes.
Her projects often revolves around the subject of “the meal”, sharing og food and interpersonal meetings around the table. She finds herself inspired by the changing of the seasons and how it affects the colors, smells and tactility in the nature.
